Replacing brake pads help plz

I'm going to replace my brake pads for the first time and just need a little advice. I was thinking of trying something other than OEM after get a quote from my stealer today for a grand plus tax. After searching the forum I was thinking of going with the stoptech street/track pads. My car is my dd and I do about 3 track days a year.
