Now that I've been using the V1 for a few weeks, I have some questions I hope you veteran users may have some tips on.
1. How often do you get false laser warnings? In the past month I've had 5 or 6, all in different areas. I've read that some brake lights on other cars can set that off, but I wasn't expecting so many warnings I guess. How often do others experience this? Oh, I live in southern Mississippi. Maybe some state troopers have laser, but in town? Yeah see, people here say "we're going to town"....not exactly on the cutting edge of technology around these parts.
2. I have the concealed display, connected through the Savvy. The mute button on it does not seem to do anything. When I hit the mute button on the actual unit, it quiets down. Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong with the CD?
3. I am aware the V1 is a chatterbox. So far all real warnings have been Ka from both troopers and local police. The K goes off constantly and it seems to be from other cars which is a PITA driving home in traffic. I have it on L right now. I just read up on the TMF and I'm going to turn that on this evening on the way home. What mode do most of you guys keep it in?
Having a detector seems to make me a BETTER driver because I'm frikkin' paranoid with it! I feel like a criminal with it in my car.
I ended up the CD in front of the instrument cluster. Easier to glance down at it there. It fit well just below the driver's side air vent and wasn't noticeable, but it was more difficult for me to see, and my eyes were off the road too much.
