Dinan Performace Parts and Warranty

Hey Guys

I was curious about the Dinan tune and though it might be more expensive than others it was covered under warranty (In the USA) which then justifies the price.

Anyway I contacted the dealer who passed it on to BMW Australia. There response was:

“We have no affiliation here in Australia with Dinan.

Only genuine BMW performance parts are supported here in Australia.”

FS: CHEAP E90 2006 BMW 325i 6AT Rare Sport Premium JB Clean Maintained Must Sell

*Priced to move quickly...cheapest E90 w/o 150k+ or rebuilt title/serious needs on the forum...clean title and ready to go, no accidents.*

Up for sale is my 2006 BMW 325i Sedan 4-door (E90). Car is loaded with most available options including 6 speed automatic Steptronic transmission. 132xxx miles, will continue to rise slightly as it is my daily driver. Never been in an accident, clean title, and well maintained. Never abused. 100% reliable, ready to drive for years to come. Bridgestone Blizzaks on alloy wheels mounted - all set for Winter 2015. Never abused. Motivated seller, serious buyers only. Located in Northern NJ or Central NJ. Asking $8450

As we all know the 325i does not have a 2.5L and instead includes the N52 which is shared with the 330i, with a single stage intake and mild tune as opposed to the 3-stage on the 330.

It is Jet Black over Beige Dakota Leather and poplar wood trim. Rare option combo includes

-Premium Package

-Sport Package

-6-speed Automatic transmission w/ sport and shiftable mode

-Adaptive Bi-Xenon Headlights *no errors*

Has all the creature comforts...leather, full power everything, memory/fully adjustable seats, double lumbar, sunroof, adaptive bi-xenons/fogs/angel eyes, stiffer sport springs/shocks/sway bars, sport seats/steering wheel, 10 speaker sound system, aux, etc.

The car is in good condition overall. Pictures speak for themselves. Minor dings/scratches that you may expect (black hides nothing). Interior in nice shape. All panels are original and have never been replaced. . .car has never been in an accident!!!

It has been extremely well maintained. Oil changes were done regularly. Full cooling system/water pump, alternator, valve cover gasket and full front brakes including rotors and Bosch euro pads done recently. Only thing car will need in the near future is a wheel bearing - I planned to do but did not have time for. *I have the new bearing itself and will include with sale* Does NOT hinder the cars functionality. Recently passed NJ inspection and will be good until June 2016, no check engine lights.

I have used the car daily and drive over 100 miles as my commute - has been nothing but reliable and given me NO problems whatsoever. It starts up every time, drives perfectly, and gets me 26-28 MPG+ with Route 1 traffic daily. I get a 450+ mile range with every tank. All functions on the car work (radio, speakers, lights, one-touch windows, sunroof, locks, etc. A/C blows extremely cold, heat gets extremely hot, both operate quickly and efficiently.) Car is very responsive, precise, and fun to drive. Certainly makes your daily commute or weekend trip wonderful and carries a good image wherever you go.

Feel free to PM with any questions, I will be happy to answer. ***Serious buyers only with cash in hand. No trades. No tire kickers, no joyriders. I don't have time to waste and I don't want to waste your time either. Will IGNORE lowballs such as 7k*** Have many people who can vouch for me on E46F and M3Forums.

X5 50i first impressions after two days and 150 miles :)

Took delivery of my X5 on Friday after a 7 week wait. My spec is 50i M-sport, Space gray with white/black dakota, 469m wheels, DHP, executive pkg, driver asst plus, ACC, LED lighting. Thought I'd post some first impressions for anyone still shopping or just to compare notes. For perspective, I have driven Hondas as my daily driver for the last 10 years ( an 05 and an 09 Pilot), and have an 04 Boxster S as a weekend toy. The X5 is my first BMW. I have 150 miles on it in two days. Amazing how a new car makes you willing to run any mundane errand right away.

Overall first impressions- of course, I love it! The engine is just phenomenal. There is actually a little turbo lag as you tip into the throttle, but then the thing takes a breath and just rips. Went out Saturday with a friend who has a 535xi sedan and who knows cars very well. When I gunned the X5 a bit from a light his reaction was, "Something this size should not be this fast". The power is just there all the time, and I really like that.

Some specifics:

Comfort Access, soft close doors, surround view- already getting lazy and spoiled by these. CA takes keyless entry to the next level, and the soft close doors are handy when you are crowding the curb in a prime parking lot end spot to be sure no one dings the passenger side. Surround view makes manuevering in tight spaces a cinch.

Throttle calibration- it seems like the Japanese and the Germans approach electronic throttles differently. I am still getting used to the X5 and I sometimes get a little too much gas or not quite enough. Had the same issue with the Boxster at first, but my Pilot always seemed to rrspond perfectly. Its weird, but its probably just me getting used to the way it feels under foot.

Steering- as others have said, it is light and vague. It feels like you never quite know what the front end is doing. It doesnt seem to me that DHP or the sport setting has any effect on this, and i am not sure if it is supposed to or not. Its ok though, this is not a sports car after all.

There's lots more to say but this post is too long already. Have attached a couple of pics, but the light was fading and they are not great. Will post more as the miles add up, but I have no regrets at this point. Thanks! Aaron in Denver

2015 M3 for sale like new, under 800 miles

I have inherited a dark grey M3 from my father, who passed just a few days after taking deliver at the performance center in South Carolina. It was driven to Delaware, and parked in my garage, temp tag in the window. Most of my last week has been in the hospital and with my mother.

NOTICE: I know next to nothing about BMWs or M3s, so I'm not entirely sure what options it has aside from the dealer telling me "basically all the most desirable options". The dealer bill of sale lists two numbers that may help folks understand what options it probably has.

1) Car price $76375.

2) Wheel/Tire package $1649.

I don't have all the glamour pictures taken yet, but these two may be useful for color information. Any questions about features - if I can answer them by going and seeing if it has "xyz" button or something - just send me a pm.

6 speed m/t 335 CEL on Demand

Looking for some input from the community on this one. I've got a 2014 335xi with the MPPK in a 6 speed manual transmission. I've followed the other threads regarding issues with CEL's and the MPPK, but I think my issue seems to be different than those.

Basically, I'm able to produce a CEL (and code 100201) almost on demand. When traveling at highway speeds (around 75 mph) and getting off the highway, I commonly shift the car into neutral. I've done this with all of my previously owned m/t cars with no issues. With my 335, when the speed goes down from 75 mph to 70 mph (and the car is in neutral), a CEL will come on.

I've now replicated this issue 6 times, and am about to take the car into the shop for the 4th time. The dealer told me that BMW is 'aware of this issue', and that it is 'impacting more cars than just yours'. They said that a software fix is in the works, but that they cannot guarantee it will be out any time soon.

I've found an attorney and am investigating my local lemon laws. What does everybody think? Is this really a known issue? Can anybody else with a 6 speed replicate this CEL?

Best way to COMPLETELY stop blow by?

I am sick of oil blowing through intercooler piping and out my BOV... Its a just messy. I had a Riss Racing oil catch can and it sucked. I bought a ADD W1 Ebay catch can ( http://ift.tt/1vFhJw9) and it look very well put together but I still get a lot of oil blow by.

I realize Rob Beck makes an upgraded PVC but I think its the whole cyclone BMW design that is flawed... Have anyone pioneered blocking off or removing the system completely? Would like to read into it.

Parking Sensor Issue

116i 2L petrol manual, E87

The other day I tried to turn on the parking sensors and they wouldn't turn on no matter what I tried. After a couple of hours the green light started flashing but there was no error message on the dashboard. Now whenever I start the car, they will work for the first 30-60 seconds then completely stop working, the light will sometimes just be off and sometimes flash. I haven't hit/been hit at all. Any idea what the issue could be?

435i Gran Coupe vs Audi S4

I'm hoping to get some advice from current gran coupé owners. I'm looking to buy a new car and I've narrowed it down to the 435 gran coupé or the Audi s4. Both cars seem great but from all the reviews I've read so far, the Audi seems to be the better balance between a comfortable sedan that can turn into a great sports car, any thoughts?

Pulled the trigger--new wheels and tired ordered

After a few weeks and not much guidance or precedence finding a good wheel and tire setup optimized for track days and autoX, I finally ordered the Apex EC-7 wheels in anthracite and the BFGoodrich g-force Rival tires.

The wheels are19x9" ET35 front w/ 8 mm spacer and 19x9.5" ET43 rear. Tires are 255/40ZR-19 front and 285/35ZR-19 rear. After realizing I couldn't do a square setup without sacrificing some tire in the rear, this is where I wound up. I'm hoping it's a good upgrade (and it fits based on my calculations)!

Hey guys,

Finally got my M4 this Thanksgiving holiday. Always wanted to the MW and S.Orange combo. It is absolutely breathtaking when you see it in person (the whole sales department and other customers literally stopped everything they were doing for a few seconds when car was pulled from the lot :happyanim:).

Please enjoy. Sorry for the low quality photos.

M4 at WHP East Track again

Had both cars (E36 M3 track car and F82) at Wild Horse Pass East again this weekend. Drove the M4 a little more the E36 because quite frankly I was having fun with it. The more I drive this car on the track the more I love it.

Driving with all nannies off is the way to go, no bad behaviors with this car. You can really toss it around the track, easy to recovery if it gets out of shape.

Video from this weekend in advanced DE. Trying to keep up with race prepped cobra kit car through traffic. My M4 is stock except for carbotech pads and R888 tires. Best lap time 1:05.498

How does BMW prevent rollover??

Guys,

Does anyone know what BMW does to help prevent an imminent rollover? For example, Porsche will apply braking to the front outside wheel to start it sliding and thus prevent the vehicle going up on two wheels. Does the X5 have any such mechanism??

For all of you who built a 4 series...

Hey guys I have an E93 (love it) looking into trading up to an F33 for all the new tech/toys inside. Anyone else make this move? Opinions? Anyway, I have a ques though for everyone who built their 4 series with m-sport and black leather. Is there a way to get the m-sport package and black leather withOUT blue piping? I want all black and the blue piping isn't my thing… I like the red on the sport package but I want the m-sport package for the bumper as I think the 4 only looks good with the m-sport bumper and that only comes with blue. Anyone else come across this issue or know if this is just a website flaw because when you build it online m-sport has only blue piping on black leather. Thanks for the help!

Why does the power stay on after I turn off the car

WTB: BMW 135i

Taran's pre trade in swap sale

So I have a few items left on my car which the locals can benefit from.

I need to trade for 100% working in order and cosmetically fit as my parts are for the trades to work.

Below are the parts and what I will need to get them done.

-Euro light switch with front and rear fog switches. Trade plus $20 (Will swap in 10 mins)

-Sport shift knob in silver trim no chipping. Trade plus $20 (Will swap in 10 mins)

-LCI Cup holders in black. Trade plus $20 (Will swap in 10 mins)

If you take all I will take $50 and I'll be swapping the parts over so no labor charge. But will only meet up in Puyallup/South Hill mall area from 8-9am

Brake Rotor Dilema

I am debating my Brake rotor options. I do plan to track the car maybe 2 or 3 times a year. I use PFC 08 pads for the track and am probably going to use the z-rated for daily driving. My debate is do I buy 2 sets of blanks 1 for daily and 1 for track or attempt middle ground or higher end and use the rotors for both.

Lastly is there really any difference between Genuine OEM, Meyle, and Bosch brake rotors? FCP Euro has Meyle Rotors (all 4) $237. They have OEM part numbers.
