Just curious... AWD crew, what tire pressure are you guys running in your front and rears? I generally go about two pounds over recommended in my other cars, but have never owned a car with tires with this low of a profile. I'm on the stock 18s.
I work in a busy corporate cellphone store, untill January thanks to decent promotion, and deal with a diverse range of people. The disturbing thing is a decent amount of the people walking through the door are dirty, smelly, or just gross. I can't imagine why in 2015 people cannot shower a few times a week. I am sure a lot of users here don't work retail but is the norm? Maybe I am just over sensitive to it.

PSA: Clean your phone case out. It's disgusting when you don't.
hi everyone I recently got a m235i. I know to hold the traction bottom 3secs to turn full traction off. But I find the car doesn't feel as aggressive as sport+ Also the exhaust sound too and the whole car like it in comfort mode. Do you know how to keep the car in sport+ with no traction control? Or maybe only for the M2.
And also the projector head light. Is the inside projector light just for show? I though it does high beam but try it doesn't seem working. I only got the car for a week and somehow both light always got condensation inside. Do I need to take it for a long drive to burn it off? It's been raining none stop here and about 6c outside.
Thanks
Would prefer local pickup but willing to ship. Price negotiable if local pickup. Please email me if interested as I am rarely on here: dickybird@live.com
Sorry if this is a repost did not see anything after a brief search. Are there compatible mud flaps for the X5 with M package? Really looking for the front only. Thanks for the help. :cool!:
I spotted a nice looking Mineral Grey 4-series 2-door coupe today. As I was following it out of the parking lot, I noticed that the logo on the trunk lid was, "M435i." I didn't know such a model existed. :confused2
So I channeled my "inner Electrician" and installed and wired up this Transformer that powers our new outdoor landscape lighting! Had to drill into the bricks carefully to support the weight and position. While I was at it, I also removed the old metal tab a/c outlet with this clear enclosed a/c outlet and cover to plug into.
And after 3hrs of careful wiring and pinpoint mounting of the staked lights and flood lamps... Voila! Let There Be Light!!!
Landscape & Flood Lighting w/ Tranformer Installation Home Project Complete!
Kind of annoying - I went to put the warning triangle holder back in the car and the brackets are missing! Sent an e-mail to my CA, she said the dealership didn't do it. Asked her to order me another pair, they are only ~$1 each per REALOEM. :confused2
Hopefully not going to get into the whole "can't order Euro parts" stupidity. Though worst case, I will have my buddy in the Netherlands get them for me, but what a PITA for no good reason! :mad0260:
Also hope I don't end up with two threads for this, posted this earlier but it doesn't show up in the thread list. Odd.
Euro Delivery folks - did the port remove your warning triangle brackets?

While spending a good part of yesterday outside, I decided to measure the various modes that effect how long it takes before the car goes to sleep. "Sleep" is defined as the auxiliary power turning off, as measured at the fuse connection for the lighters located in the trunk. Time was measured by checking the time stamps on my rear dash camera, which turns on and off with the auxiliary sockets, via a tap at the fuse.
There are four different times that come into play before the car goes to sleep: 3, 12, 14, and 20 minutes. Details follow. All times noted are within one second of the number of minutes listed.
3 minute shutdown
If the engine is off, the car goes to sleep 3 minutes after the doors are manually locked, regardless of other factors. If the radio is on, it turns off immediately upon door locking.
12 minute shutdown
The car will wake up if a door or the trunk is opened. The car then goes to sleep 12 minutes after the door or trunk is closed if the lock button is not pressed. The door lock stays in whatever state in which it was left.
14 minute shutdown
The car wakes up if the doors are unlocked. If no door is opened, the doors re-lock automatically 2 minutes after they are unlocked, and the car goes to sleep 12 minutes after that.
20 minute shutdown
Just about every other case results in the car going to sleep 20 minutes after the engine is shutdown. If the radio is on when the engine is shutoff, it turns itself off 8 minutes after engine shutdown, with the car going to sleep 12 minutes after that.
I would like to preface the following build with one small fact. I am a HUGE Spider-man fan. I mean HUGE. I am 42 work in I.T. and I still have a Marvel comic subscription kind of fan. Yes I am a Nerd... and as Peter Parker says With great power comes great responsibility. Now that we have that out of the way on to my build.

Delivery at the PCD
Day 1
The day started with Rachael and I driving to our dealer to drop off our current car as we were allowed to rent it for the 7 days between finishing paperwork and leaving. We were whisked to the airport in an X5 and landed in Greensville, SC a few hours later after seeing Atlanta for 45 minutes. The PCD sent a 535 from the Marriott to pick us up and after check in, we settled in to a delicious dinner on BMW and a restful nap. I didnt sleep too well in anticipation of delivery.
Delivery Day
We woke up had a complementary breakfast on BMW and were picked up with the group of 14 others to be shuttled to the Performance Driving Center. The day started with an orientation where we met our instructors for the day and then we were taken outside and given an equivalent mule car to drive. Each car had a walkie-talkie in it so we could hear the instructor in the lead car.
First up was the skid pad. BMW had a dedicated car to this activity so we changed over to that car and the instructor led us through how traction control works. We all live in Wisconsin with its winters and icy roads I was impressed on how much grip I could get when the traction control was on. We then turned it off and set back out to eventually spin out. Even in a spin the car felt in control and with some input from the instructor (who was in the car during this exercise) it was very easy to stop the spin and come to a halt.
Next up was a small road course we both were able to take about 10 laps on. The course had reducing radius turns, elevation changes and a slalom course. Rachael had never been on a track before and she had a blast putting the car through the paces after a lap tour by the instructors car. All seven of the cars were on this course at the same time and the instructor did a great job of traffic flow control. Many cones were tipped over and everyone had tons of fun.
Next up was the braking exercise. We were told to murder the brake pedal and if we broke the pedal off we could keep the car. We started at 25 MPH, then 35MPH and finally at 55MPH. I took that as a challenge but even at 55MPH with me almost standing on the brake pedal, ABS fully on and turning into a corner to stop it did not break and I did not get a free car its like they knew.
This concluded the car portion of the course. We brought our cars back to the paddock and upon exiting we were asked if we wanted to take a hot lap in am M4 with our instructors. Rachael and I immediately raised our hands and jumped into a M4. I attempted to hold my gopro steady against my chest as our instructor made the course look easy. The hot lap ended with what felt like a quarter mile long power slide with a 360 spin at the end to line us up with the exit. I could not stop the wide grin and on the video I shot you can hear me giggle at least twice.
After the hot lap we were told to make our way to the line of X5s waiting for us to drive to the factory tour and then to the off road course. The factory is an impressive controlled chaos to watch and one of the cleanest I have been able to visit. We saw hundreds of X3s destined for some happy owners and at the final stage of assembly we witnessed a roundel being hammered into place on the hood of a white X3.
Highlight reel from the day.
After the factory tour we followed our instructor in our X5 to the off road course. We took turns driving the X5 through high-banked turns and used hill descent control to help us navigate some hills. It was fun and was interesting to see just how far you can push an X5. I was impressed on how much tilt the X5 could take and still drive with ease.
As we finished we were now able to grab a bite to eat and visit the gift shop. The food was excellent. German knockwurst and potato pancakes among other delicious food. I also made my way to the gift shop to see what was available and came away with a Performance Driving school jacket I will make use of with some top down driving. The gift shop gives CCA members a discount so remember to bring your card!
Finally! We were told to make our way out to some heated tents to see our cars. Ours was in the third tent down and was set up with a table and two leather chairs with all my paperwork, a space heater to keep the garage comfy and of course my car! I immediately grabbed my camera and started to shoot tons of photos of the car. The Coral red interior is just fantastic. It has some black contrast stitching that I think really makes it pop. The Estoril Blue is eye catching especially with the orbit grey rims. They are darker than I thought and really add to the looks of the M235i. If the rims were a lighter gray it would not look as good in my opinion.
To be totally honest, I was a little apprehensive about how the car actually would look with the Coral red and the Estoril Blue. I have to say now after seeing it and driving it for 1200 miles I dont think I would have it any other way. Its very distinctive and the red and blue work extremely well together. I spent the next hour or so talking with our dedicated delivery specialist, getting my car set up, importing my profile from USB, attaching my license plate and asking a few questions about options I added to the car like parking assistant.
We were turned loose after I ran out of questions (I mean I just did turn in a 2014 M235i so there weren't many) and started getting antsy on wanting to drive my car. We drove to the Zentrum to take a few obligatory photos in front of the fountains and then headed off to a section of the Blue Ridge parkway to take some more photos with the golden hour light of the setting sun. As the sun began to set we pointed the nose of the car north and slowly made our way back home to Wisconsin.
I have to say, if you are getting a new BMW take Performance Center Delivery. Its an experience we wont ever forget and it is well worth the cost of airfare and gas/lodging to get home. We are planning on doing it again in two years when Rachael will be getting her new X3.
I hope you like my simple attempt at documenting my PCD.
I have the Harman/Kardon (HK) sound system and I (like many of you here) wish it had more bass.
Anyone heard of the bavsound ghost subwoofer (underseat) paired with the HK system for the m235i? What do you guys think? I am merely looking for a boost in bass and not for sonic perfection. :)
Are there any other brands which has a similar underseat subwoofer replacement?
This ghost subwoofer seems to tick a lot of my boxes : retain trunk space, relative ease of installation without needing to install an extra amp, plug and play.
I'm more inclined to M4 Convertible(SS with SO interior) as I have not driven a convertible before and it was so fun to test-drive 650i xdrive convertible (hearing engine sound with the top down was a different world to me! Other verts I have driven before shortly Z4, SL550, S2000 but never owned)
Cons for M4 convertible ; *more weight/"less performance/balance", *its rear is not as pretty as M3. *less space(I think we'll be fine in putting a baby car seat as I had G37s coupe before.)
Pros for M4 convertible ; everything else.
People says M4 vert with extra weght can't perform as M3. I saw a comment M4 vert drives pretty similar to 435i or 428i convertible. Is that true?
awaiting your inputs. Thanks,
The main pieces of contemporary furniture such as sofas sectors are serious investments and contemporary leather furniture has great popularity of these necessities Lounge. Comfortable and easy to care for, that adds a traditional touch of class to any interior decorating scheme.
The living room can be used as furniture and white leather more modern or vanilla with clean straight lines instead. This color scheme can also work well in a room, moving from marble or granite fireplace mantle and a carpet of creamy skin. Standing ornamental plants are cut good tone from the fireplace if relatively spacious corner.
Leather furniture can be a convenient addition to the classroom or reading also. If your shelves occupy the entire wall, and maintain a relatively minimalist style in the study may help in the control of visual clutter. The contemporary leather furniture in black is a good choice for the seating arrangement, with brass and glass coffee table lamps with black iron legs. The wall art in a simple black and white helps to unify the room while matching the modern aesthetic.
Has anyone looked into Adding (Not replacing with Euro duct) the silver finishing rod to our OEM front side black grills.
Maybe go one step further and paint them the same color as the car body.
Haven't shared any pictures of the toy yet. Had fun ordering it and don't think I could of made a better choice. Still makes me smile when the garage door opens in the morning.
Just curious.. if I wanted my M235i to have the same exhaust note as the M2, what's my best option? My gut is that an M235i with M Performance Exhaust will still sound more tame than the M2, though I haven't compared directly.
I haven't figured out the exact pattern but on occasion after parking my car I find that the passenger door and trunk remain locked. I have to hit the "unlock" button on the dash. (Which is inconvenient to have to reach all the way in and push, btw.) But other times everything is unlocked.
Hey watch fiends! I started the main threads for Rolex and Tag Heuer and I know there is a Panerai master thread, so after purchasing my first Omega, I thought I would start a thread for the brand!
Share your Omega watches, ask questions and start discussion!! :party0030:
Here is my first Omega:
Seamaster 300 "Spectre" Limited Edition. (limited to 7,007 pieces worldwide, only about 1000 came to the US)
It is my favorite Seamaster by far with both the NATO strap and stainless steel band. I'm used to having a date on my watch (my daily driver is still my Rolex GMT Master II), but I'll get used to it! I love the subtle elegance of the watch, and the build quality and movement are wonderful.
Also for anyone in the West LA/Beverly Hills area, the service at the Omega Boutique at the Beverly Center was first class! They didn't discount the watch, but I did receive a free bottle of Bollinger Champagne, a leather carrying case for the watch, a beautiful leather notebook portfolio/small laptop/ipad carrying case, a coffeetable book describing the history of Omega and more!
What's a 150d ? That's what you get when you take the diesel engine from a M550d and stuff it into a 1er and turn up the power a little bit! ACS1 5.0d transplanted and now called: BMW 150d
Here is my car 1 year on, I am still absolutely delighted with it, however I am very tempted to make it a lot more noisy!
The non-factory mods I have made are as follows...
Blacked out front blades
Gloss black roof
Carbon Fibre M style mirrors
Next I am tempted to go for 405m wheels, and then spray the bottom black sills red to go with the callipers, have seen that on a car and it looks stunning plus I think 405m show the callipers a lot better than 624m wheels.
Alpine White M235i with goodies! M mirrors, gloss black roof...
