I was given a new 528i while my 228i was being serviced and was rear-ended within 30 minutes of picking up the loaner. I have attached some pics of the accident, both his and mine:
My question is this, how much safer is it really in a coupe or sedan vs a cab model. This wreck really has me thinking about my safety and that of my passenger. I have no doubt that he would have plowed up through my back seat if I was in my cab as it lacks the sidewall strength of the sedan, which is where it stopped crumpling on the 528.
Am I just being overly cautious at the moment?
