My M4 is apparently somewhere around 3,500 lbs. One of the things I loved about my prior 1M was that it was approx 300 lbs. lighter than that, which I could definitely feel every time I drove the car (along with the shorter wheelbase). I also understand that the M235i (upon which the M2 will be loosely based) is similarly around 3,500 lbs.
From what I have read, the M2 is expected to be "significantly" lighter than the 235, but what do the experts and "insiders" say on this issue? I am hoping that the lighter weight, shorter wheelbase, and maybe a warmed over tune will strike the perfect balance between the M4's freight train thrust and the 1M's responsiveness and nimbleness. Not to mention the exhaust note...;)
