17s or 18s

I am about to order my 228xi and am trying to decide on the wheel upgrade.

1. This will be a lease
2. I am on a budget
3. I love the look of the 18s
4. I don't want to spend a bunch of money on the wheel and tire insurance
5. I assume the 17s will be more durable due to the aspect ratio

Thoughts?
