Having the car for about 5 months, I just experienced my 2nd flat tire. This time around, its a big ol' nail too close to the sidewall to be replaced.
I have the Michelin Pilot Super Sport run-flats that came stock from the dealership. I took the car to Discount Tire this morning and they told me they don't, and can't, carry the run-flat versions of that tire. Apparently Michelin has a special agreement with BMW where only they carry that version of the tire? Anyone know if this is true?
Discount tire told me my options are:
1) replace all the tires - don't wan't to do this with 3000 miles on the tires.
2) Take it to BMW - pay about $320 for parts and labor
3) replace the one tire with a Michelin PS2 run flat. Something tells me having a different tire than the rest on this car is a bad idea...
Is my option to get the same tire seriously only taking it to the BMW dealership?
