Changes with Interior finish on newer cars?

Just came back from my ED for my M235 and noticed some small differences on my car from other M235's I've seen in the states. First the M badges on the side fenders are gone on mine. Anyone else? Also, can anyone confirm in their 2015+ 2ers if the plastic surround that is around the hvac is gloss black rather than the older matte off-black. I've seen some 2014s with the matte finish while mine is gloss black like on 4-series cars.

I've only seen the gloss surround on the verts...
