Although now that I own an F80 M3 my roots run deep with Ford products. I have owned and modded some pretty high horsepower mustangs over the past 15 years, in the 1000rwhp range and have been drag racing for about the same amount of time.
I work for BMW but also have a small little side gig where I do high performance Mustang work. I am home sick today bored so I figured I would post up some pics and vids.
Back in 2003 I bought a Cobra "Terminator" as they call it. Within a few hours the modding began. Within less than 6 months the car was already making 700rwhp.
This is my Turbo Cobra (now sold) to a lucky owner out in NJ. The purpose of this car was to build a streetable pump gas car that can be fast at the track and be driven home. The car was a solid 9 second car on pump gas. Quiet and reliable with 8 second capability with a tweak to the boost controller and race fuel.
This is what the car looked like in street trim. Nothing crazy, it was a sleeper.
Best pass I ever made with the car was a 9.77 @ only 126mph. I let off around the 1000' mark. The car has trapped in the 140s on this same setup. No cage in the car so I was getting thrown out every time I went. This was on pump gas and 18psi of boost out of a little 4.6L car. This car goes 0-60 @ the track in under 2 seconds. 0-113 in 6 seconds :)
This is the engine I built for it back in 2006.
After some contemplating I decided to pull the 6 speed out and put an Automatic in the car. This is a little customization I did to the console when I did the Auto swap. Clean and effective.
On to the fun stuff.
Video of some 1/8th mile testing since if I made a full pass with no cage I would get tossed
1/4 mile pass where I lifted and got thrown out for no cage so I could not best my pump gas times after that. We were going to do some race gas passes hoping for low 9s or high 8s but that didn't happen that day.

My next Cobra I built was supercharged. I sold this car last year since I was not driving it and had no use for it. On 19 psi and some E85 the car made 665rwhp and was an awesome streetable fun car.
And here is a pic of my garage where all the action happens. From time to time there will be a BMW in here getting tweaked but most of the time its Ford stuff
