ICOM; what's needed for programming

After Winkfp rendering my CIC controller redundant; it seems that this may be due to using a K-DCAN cable.



I want to have the whole car updated but every indy I call seems very reluctant so I'm tempted to do it myself.



Assuming that I have Winkfp setup correctly; what else is needed for an ICOM install?



Packages on eBay seem to be around £250 for a China clone.
