So I'm now looking at an M4 here in the UK. The last time I had looked at anything BMW was in 2007 when I picked up my 335i. I'm somewhat well (enough) verse in the US side of how BMW works with regards to dealer allocations, invoice pricing, etc. I also know that most of that somewhat flies out of the window when it comes to M models.
eg, I could do a EU delivery on a non-M car, which doesn't count towards their monthly allocations, so even if they get 500 over invoice, it's free money for the dealer(loose example).
What I don't know is how it exactly works on this side of the pond. With generally much higher finance rates, and the lovely 20% whatever tax, I'm surprised that BMW isn't more competitive when it comes to financing, but that's somewhat another topic.
The question is whether the UK dealers work in a similar scheme to the US dealers with regards to allocations and any negotiation room to minimize the retail markups.
