Tackling LSD install today - shim question

I've asked a lot of questions on the forums about installing an LSD and No one has brought up shims, are the new units generally machined well enough to not need new additional adjustment?



I'm going to tackle the project today but didn't get any shims, just wondering if I should hold off. Or if anyone wants to help :) Santa Clara at the DIY shop, Pit Row.
