I have been battling an ongoing issue with an SOS call system malfunction after the dealer replaced my TCU for real time traffic and other idrive issues. The latest solution from the dealer is the replacement of the "battery backup for the SOS system." Apparently this is in place in cases where the car loses power/the main battery is disconnected so that emergency calls can still be placed.
I didn't know that there was a back-up battery anywhere in the vehicle and was having trouble finding the part they are referring to via google.
Does anyone know about this part and where it would be located in the vehicle? If it actually does fix my issue, I will be very happy. I just find it strange that I can't find the part they are referring to.
