Nav: inputting addresses from database can be aggravating

I have been grinding my teeth and tearing out what remains of my hair over getting the nav to accept addresses from the Outlook database already uploaded to the car from my iPhone. I think it may be about certain kinds of punctuation that the nav rejects (like commas) but I simply cannot figure out why it will take some entries but not others, which I then have to re-input manually for reasons I cannot fathom. It's a great nav but this aspect of it is frustrating. It might be about format. Can anyone help? Many thanks.
