And the paint under and around where it was is just horrendous. I'm not sure if it would have happened to every 2 series or if maybe my paint wasn't cured properly, but the adhesive tape used by the factory definitely messed the paint up permanently. You can see the lines outlining where all the adhesive is. Also around the area the paint has areas where it looks like the clear coat is mottled and near the rear window I found 3 drips in the paint.
I only had my iPhone with me out working on the car so they aren't the best quality, but it shows what the paint looks like where the adhesive was. These shots are even after I went over it with a clay bar and hit it with my Porter Cable with some Menzerna PO85RD polish.

The lines from the adhesive arent the biggest deal to me since I'm just taking it off to throw a carbon fiber spoiler on, but the other clearcoat issues are something I'm a bit concerned about. This could also be a big concern for people who want to run without the spoiler. I also spoke to a friend of mine who is also on here with an Estoril Blue M235i xDrive and he said his trunk looked the same while swapping his spoiler. So I don't have any data on colors other than Estoril Blue, but I'd imagine it could happen to any of the colors.
