Just had a chance to install these angel eyes and wanted to share my experience. Coming from the Lux V3's, I was looking for brighter update/upgrade. Naturally, the V4's were the first to come to mind, but I wasn't pleased to see the issues with the bulbs when my friend picked up a pair for his car (flicker on shutoff, blue blobs that are visible when lights are on). With the reasonable prices for the DTEC's from a vendor on here, I decided to give them a try. Overall, I am quite pleased with the purchase thus far. The brightness far exceeds my Lux V3's and the color temperature matches the headlights much better (although they are pure white, they are much warmer in color than the V3's which had a stronger bluish hue).
I fully understand that this is not a fair comparison since the Lux V3's are an older generation technology. But just to give you guys an idea of what else is out on the market if you don't want to deal with the issues that the current V4's have. Best pics I could take in my parking structure, and I know they're not taken in the ideal setting of bright daylight - just wanted a quick comparo with my V3's.
I was very happy with the Lux V3's and am more happy with the DTEC V7's. For now, I can't speak in terms of longevity of the DTEC product, which I know Lux is well known for. But I'll update you guys on the longterm performance of this product in a few months. In all honestly, if Lux had released a product that did not flicker or exhibit tacky blue blobs, I would not have hesitated to purchase from them again. They build a very high quality product, but I feel that these DTECs are on par for the money.
