New in this forum, I've just spent my first week with my 2008 e90 and I have to say that I really love it.
But I have some problems I can't solve up to now, so if someone had the same problems before would appreciate his advise.
The car was delivered by the previous owner with one key only, saying that the other one had been lost, but it has been ordered from Germany and will have it in few weeks time.
The car has no CA keys.
The only key delivered was not able to operate doors (lock/unlock). The previous owner said that the key has to be charged so he suggested to use the car for few hours with key in the slot to get it charged, so I did.
But I spent more than ten hours running the car and the LOW KEY BATTERY indication is still there every time the car is started.
Now I use the metal key to open and close the doors.
But from time to time the car locks by itself, sometimes when stopped with the engine running waiting for the green light, sometimes when stopped with the engine stopped when all the doors are already closed.
There are times when, even though the car is locked in my garage, it still tries to lock again and a rattling noise can be heard from the doors and the cabin light gets on.
One of these times the car locked me outside at the gas station, having the key on the key slot inside the car!!
Got into the settings and set the auto locking in off mode, but the same thing happens.
Noticed that when the LOW KEY BATTERY indication appears then after few minutes I see the locking problem again.
Can this be relevant?
Has someone faced any similar problem and traced the cause?
