I had an unfortunate incident with my right front yesterday morning and will have to replace a tire. I only have 2,700 miles on the car, so I am comfortable with replacing only one.
The problem is the 88y load rating on the 225/40 ZR18 PSS. BMW is quoting $290 for the tire alone. When I search tire rack or discount tire, I cant find that tire. I can get the same tire with a 92Y load rating for $170 each, but I am not sure how this will affect handling.
I am contemplating getting a pair of the 92Y for the front and hoping someone might need a lightly used OEM tire (maybe someone in the same position as me)
Any suggestions?
