I just received my bmw 320d back yesterday after the famous chain problem which was replaced by BMW themselves.
when I hit 1500rpm I now cannot hear the noise of the chain whirling like it used to, its dead silent.
I used to have a clattery sound when the engine is warm, but when I had the car back I drove to work this morning and the noise came back after hitting the roundabout at the end of the motorway when I was idle, its a clattery sort of slapping sound, it sounds like something is catching against something in the engine bay.
BMW assessed the car previously and they replaced a lot of parts, a new chain kit was purchased and other things needed.
Does anyone experience or know what this clattery sound I am having when idling is?
