Hey guys,
Yesterday the A/C in my 09 335i completely died, doesn't blow out any air at all. Now I know BMW claims hot air coming out of the vents when the A/C is off is "normal" but I noticed a lot of the interior components themselves were getting hot after the fan died. For example the key gets hot, and when I opened the glove box I found that the papers and items I had in there were warm and the housing which hides the fuses was very hot.
I'm not sure if this has to do with the A/C fan going out or if there is another issue going on. Does anybody with experience regarding the A/C fan dying know whether these are normal symptoms associated with it's failure?
I'm definitely going to bring it back to BMW as soon as I get a chance, but I am wondering if the heated interior components could be doing damage to the car.
FYI last week the car was serviced under CPO for an evaporator replacement for the A/C.
