Clutch Judder

I have been suffering with clutch judder problems since I bought my E90 320i (70k miles). It doesn’t seem to make too much difference whether the engine is cold or warmed up. I don’t know if this is purely coincidence or not, but it seems to be worse after I have put higher octane fuel in eg V Power. Not sure if anyone has heard of that before?

So here is the basic history of my clutch judder problems:

- Bought the car about 4/5 months ago. I remember in the first week or two I had a bad case of clutch judder once or twice, but to be honest at the time I thought it was my driving style/not being used to the new car!

- It was fine for a couple of months

- Then it started to come back, sometimes only very slightly, sometimes more severe

- A couple of weeks ago I had it real bad, to the point where it was almost un-driveable. Each time over the period of the weekend it would judder quite violently. At this point I was thinking something needs to be done sooner rather than later because I can’t carry on with it like this.

- I then went on holiday and since I’ve been back it’s been generally fine, apart from a very tiny little judder yesterday

As it was yesterday I can put up with it. It’s not ideal but it’s certainly manageable and not enough to really piss me off. However the way it was a few weeks ago was just awful.

I’ve read various posts on here and elsewhere, but most of the threads I see seem to involve the car juddering every time the car is cold. Whereas my problem is not constant, it seems to come and go, and at different severity each time, so I wondered if these symptoms indicate anything particular (apart from it’s going to cost me a lot of money  )

Worth removing the CDV or likely to be something more serious than that?

Thanks.
