I'm heading to Europe in early May 2015, for about 5-6 weeks. Just a vacation. I'd love to drive a new M3 or M4 while I'm there, but I'm not ready to let go of my E90M and make the change. Still too attached.
My thought. If someone is planning a state-side purchase around July or August 2015, allow me to pick it up for you in Munich, drive it for a month, drop it off, you get it 6-10 weeks later (depending on where you live), and you get the $4400 ED discount/savings. Decent deal, right? I'm also willing to pay you something for the time I'm driving your car in Europe.
I've owned my E90M for 6 years (first E9xM in my state), 85k miles ago, and it's flawless. Decently modded, and I'm anal and particular beyond most people. Your ED car would be meticulously cared for - as if it were my own.
I wonder if picking up at Welt, payment, registration, title, etc. would be an issue. Perhaps docs could be handled before hand.
Just a thought....
