Long short, I was driving up 95 to DC and there was a massive pile up. I breaked, maneuvered and completely missed the pile up. Pulled over only to have another car clip me at 60.
Tail light is smashed, bumper corner crushed and torn and there is a six inch cut in the rear quarter panel. Been doing research and based on forums and BMW repair, the quarter panel is sectionated which is what the shop I am taking it to told me. I am concerned about the rebuild integrity given that it looks like the roof and rear window will have to be removed and resealed.
What is worse and what was written up in the adjustor's estimate was that the shop should try and remold the bumper which I think is ludicrous. It's torn. The shop said they will try to advocate for a new one but it's ultimately up to the company (GEICO).
Any advice so far as handling this? The shop is B&V Autobody and they were recommended by DC BMW Chapter. They also do work for Ferrari, Maserati, Corvette and Lamborghini, and the lot was littered with said cars. They do a lot of restores for muscle and super cars as well.
Will post photos when on better bandwidth.
Thanks
