why does the M235i feel so much livelier than the 435i?

Where do you think are the reasons?

The weight difference is only about 60kg, the center of gravity is lower on the 4 series. Then there is the different wheelbase, which I think has some good effects too.

With the PPK 340hp, the Performance exhaust the differences in terms of sound and acceleration should be minor.

With Michelin Pilot Super sports on the 435i another difference can be eliminated.

But what about handling? Could the gap be closed with maybe half a degree more negative camber up front and stiffer springs? Or might there be other significant differences?

(My impression is based on driving a 435i, once a 220d M Sport and lots and lots of reviews about the M235i and the 435i. And I absolutely love the 435i, but I am starting to discover that a smaller, maybe more involving car has got its benefits too)
