Well. the road to my work is 2 lane, but separated by a large grass median, so essentially the lanes are only to allow travel single file in one direction. This becomes a problem when the lanes are rather wide, but either way there are no solid or broken lines. Anywho I'm making a left turn into my office parking lot WHILE SIGNALING when I'm basically T-boned (my turn was well underway) by a Corolla and pushed over the curb. She claims she "didn't see me" but she was either trying to pass me on the right which is insane considering I was signaling and my brake lights were on, or she just completely wasn't paying attention. She was found at fault and while she only has $5k liability coverage, my deductible with State Farm is waived. Anyway,
Alright so before the barrage of "it's totaled" posts, which, believe me, I have posted on similar threads, and I am not ruling out, ostensibly, what are we looking at here? no fluids spilled at all, no smoke, no airbags, no dash lights. the curb does worry me in terms of the front suspension, but the tires weren't flattened and the wheels seem fine upon first inspection. It's at the body shop now so I'm waiting to hear from them. If it's a total loss, hopefully SF cuts me a nice check (09 sport 6MT, 54,xxx miles. haven't ran the blue book in a while). If the frame is fine and they want to repair it, I'm ok with that as well. Any body shop guys speculate how much that would be to repair just ballpark?
I'll upgrade the bumper to M-sport out of pocket, I wonder what the price differential would be. Crazy how the bumper sheared off like that in a straight line.
In the meantime I think I've earned myself a beer. :drink:
