Rear ball joint bushing puller?

My rear ball joints are shot after 123k miles. Has anyone used anything besides the $185 tool to remove the $30 bushings?



Anything a local parts store will loan? Or has anyone made one with some short of pipe??



Hate the thought of paying an Indy to do my bushing simply because it's not worth the cost of the puller.
