Warranty Question

I am looking at a 2011 135i, M-Sport, with 42k miles, thing just went out of 4yr factory warranty 3 weeks ago. So my question is, can I still latch onto BMW extended or do I have to go aftermarket? If aftermarket who to trust?

Any terminal problems you have experienced with this model car?
