Ive had my thermostat stuck open for about 2 yrs now. This week in San Diego we have had record high temps and I noticed that every time the weather is hot my RPM's stay higher than normal, they remain about 800 all the time, basically like when cold engine. As some of us know stuck thermostats run the engine cooler than normal since coolant is always flowing. But its weird to think that when hot outside the engine would take less time to reach normal temps but for some reason it runs cooler since RPM's remain high. Well, I ve done short trips but even though and usually after 5 mins they go back down to 600 RPM's which it should be normal.
Anyone else experienced this? Cheers! :)
